Durable Goods - the Village Market - An article in the Chicago Tribune Magazine titled Durable Goods, about the 110+ year old Village Market, which opened in a wood store in 1888 as Rosenthal and Helming's Grocery and Meat Market. The article shows photos of early Village Market. The new owners, Sue and Rob Douglass, renovated the building and filled its shelves with dry, candy, fruits as well as prepared foods.
