Lake Bluff Fire Fighters Village Hall Policeman - Black & White photograph of the Village's police and fire vehicles. This photograph was also enlarged and used in the Vliet museum's exhibits. A note on back of card states that the motorcycle was the Villages first motorized vehicle. Before 1929 the Police Dept. used a bicycle. The policeman on the motorcycle is Eugene Spaid and the firefighter in the white coat and fire hat is Chief Charles Helming.

Methodist Deaconess Orphanage - A sepia postcard of the Lake Bluff Children's Home. Dated 1918, the organization was then known as the Methodist Deaconess Orphanage. The message on the back is written to Leona Helming from her parents, Charles Helming and Julia Helming. the Helming family owned what is now the Village Market.
