7. Follow the Blazed Trail - A full page article, Follow the Blazed Trail, published in the Chicago Tribune June 1, 2025 about the Rand McNally map publishing company. The beginnings of the company date back to 1872 when it published railroad maps and followed up with road maps that we sold at gas stations, beginning with Gulf Oil, in 1920. The top half of the article is a photo of the McNally family showing Harry Clow sitting in the car. Harry Clow, a Lake Bluff resident, was a map and geographical publisher who resided at Sheridan / 128 Moffett (now Lansdowne Lane). Born in 1859 and died in 1933. Harry married Elizabeth McNally in 1892 and later he became president of Rand McNally

10. The train station and the Benida - A reproduced photo of the 1900 Circa Lake Bluff train station showing the depot hack Benida with two white horses in front. The train station was designed by Charles Sumner Frost, son-in-law of the owner of the railroad. It was built, at this new location, in 1904 and was renovated in 1979. It is quite similar to other North Shore railway stations with a hip roof and brick and stone exterior. The first railroad cam through Lake Bluff in 1855.

Three Chicago North Shore Line crossings - Three Xerox photos of the North Shore Electric Line grade crossings at East Scranton Avenue, showing a gas station at the corner of Sheridan Road and East Scranton Avenue as well as the Village Market. The photos were likely taken by the NS Line Company. There are also three Xerox photos of the grade crossing at East North Avenue and Sheridan Road, showing buildings along Sheridan.Some of the photos include images of the Train Station. There index cards from the NSL with explanations of the images. The Museum does not hold the original photos.

Two Train Stations and Village Hall - A four page Xerox typed notes written by Elmer Vliet, after looking through Lake Bluff Village Board minutes from 1899 through 1905 for background material on the present (1975) Chicago Northwestern Railroad depot and the Village Hall. The document also includes information about Artesian Lake, the storm sewer at the underpass.
