Follow the Blazed Trail |
Description |
A full page article, Follow the Blazed Trail, published in the Chicago Tribune June 1, 2025 about the Rand McNally map publishing company. The beginnings of the company date back to 1872 when it published railroad maps and followed up with road maps that we sold at gas stations, beginning with Gulf Oil, in 1920. The top half of the article is a photo of the McNally family showing Harry Clow sitting in the car. Harry Clow, a Lake Bluff resident, was a map and geographical publisher who resided at Sheridan / 128 Moffett (now Lansdowne Lane). Born in 1859 and died in 1933. Harry married Elizabeth McNally in 1892 and later he became president of Rand McNally |
