A receipt from Warren Miller and Company, May 4, 1908 - A receipt from Warren Miller and Company, May 4, 1908. In addition to Fancy Groceries and Meats, the store also sold flour, feed, baled hay and straw. According to Elmer Vliet's book, Lake Bluff The First 100 Years, the "Miller Brothers took over the grocery [store] from Merchant and later added a gas pump along the curb ... ." Merchant is J. C. Merchant who erected the "Merchant Block" a building located on the corner of East Scranton Avenue and East Center Avenue, and burned in 1917. The current location of Inovasi Restaurant.
