Description |
A copy of a photo or postcard of the Merchant block, named for its owner, J. C Merchant. Dating to about 1902, it was built with lumber from the Grace Methodist Church that was torn down because it had been erected in the public right-of-way. The Merchant Block was destroyed by fire in 1917, even though the fire department was located next door in the village hall. |
