A large living room to the south opened onto a veranda that overlooked Artesian Lake. The Reverend Trusdell became the first president of the Village of Lake Bluff after it was incorporated in 1895. Trusdell was secretary of the Camp Meeting Association and Village president from 1895 to 1902.
