C. & N. W. RR Depot, Lake Bluff, Ill - Sepia photograph of the train depot and tracks looking north from bridge. Shows an engine approaching from the north. Message on back, postmarked 1917. The train station was designed by Charles Sumner Frost, son-in-law of the owner of the railroad. It was built, at this new location, in 1904 and was renovated in 1979. It is quite similar to other North Shore railway stations with a hip roof and brick and stone exterior. The first railroad cam through Lake Bluff in 1855.

Lake Bluff Train Depot - The Lake Bluff Depot of the Northwestern Railroad was located where it is today. There was a branch line running down what is now Sheridan Place. This branch line took passengers from the depot down to the beach.

The North Shore Railway, Lake Bluff Station - A black and white photo of the North Shore Railway, Lake Bluff Station. In the photo are Tom and Virginia Shaw with their two daughters, Penny and Lynne Shaw. The older man is Virginia's father, Harold Ermeling. The Shaws lived at 548 East Scranton Avenue, and 600 Sunrise Avenue. Virginia grew up with her parents Ruth and Harold Ermeling at 223 East Witchwood Lane
