It was one of the narrow houses with 2 x 6 solid hardwood floors. Originally board and batten, it is now stucco and has had numerous alterations, an enclosed porch, a third floor, etc. Clara Rykoff, who operated a tearoom at Oak and Center, lived here until 1944.

4. 300 East Prospect Avenue - An Architectural and Historic Survey of the Camp Meeting Area of Lake Bluff that was completed in 1998. Additional information about the property is available at the Lake Bluff History Museum. 300 East Prospect Avenue Built as a camp meeting cottage around 1890. The house was purchased in 1910 by Eugene and Clara Rycoff. They lived there for over 30 years. The last remodeling was done in 1995 by Gloria Dougherty, (the Cottage Gardener) and her husband. Clara Rycoff operated a restaurant / antique store at the corner of Center and Oak.
