240 East Prospect - Color slide of 240 East Prospect Avenue Originally this house was is DesPlaines at the older Methodist campground and was probably built prior to 1880. Around 1890 it was moved to this site. In the 1900s it was turned around so the east side face the front (south). The porches are open and are original. Although the windows are not in keeping with an earlier appearance, the columns are, though they are not original. Originally the homes was only two rooms, one above the other.
