Around 1890 it was moved to this site. In the 1900s it was turned around so the east side face the front (south). The porches are open and are original. 4. 240 East Prospect Avenue - An Architectural and Historic Survey of the Camp Meeting Area of Lake Bluff that was completed in 1998. Additional information about the property is available at the Lake Bluff History Museum. 240 East Prospect Avenue The original house was a cottage built at the Des Plaines Camp meeting grounds c. 1875. It was moved to Lake Bluff in the early 1890's by the Alling Family. The Alvin Malsch family lived in the house for many years. Mr. Malsch was the assistant fire chief. in the 1980's the house was rebuilt around the old house structure. Wilson and wife. In 1896 part of Lots 41 and 42 were sold to Julia Alling who was listed as the owner in 1900. Later Alvin Malsch owned the property in the 1930s.
