At a meeting of the Lake Bluff village board Tuesday evening, bids were opened for the construction of 1,000 feet of Sheridan Drive through the Close [Cloes] property. The contract was awarded to William Hoffman for $425. Work will begin at once and another section of the great highway which is to connect Chicago and Milwaukee will be completed within a couple of months. William Henderson was awarded the contract for the construction of Sheridan Road through the Ferry property. Mr. Ballard of Libertyville has the contract for building the bridge over the ravine.
