Two identical black and white photos of Village Hall, 40 East Center Avenue, with a car in the driveway. Village Hall was built in 1904 and designed by architect Webster Tomlinson. The tower was designed to handle the canvas hoses used by fire department. The tower, used to dry the hoses in the early days, was removed in 1935 and replace during Lake Bluff's Centennial year, 1995. Village Hall at one time also housed the jail. Village Hall was built with $6,500 received from railroad contracts,on land donated by village president Fred Cornish and his wife Alice Cornish. |
