A black and white photo of the Lake Bluff Pharmacy |
Description |
Two black and white photos of the Lake Bluff Pharmacy at 100 East Scranton Avenue. The original pharmacy located at 40 East Scranton, was owned and operated by Graham Munch. In February, 1958 Munch retired and donated the building to the library on the condition that he retain his residence on the second floor. Munch died ten months later, on December 7, 1958. When Munch retired, he sold his business to his assistant, Howard Willms, who built this brick building just east of the earlier frame building. The brick pharmacy remained in that location until the mid-1970s, when Willms built a brand-new pharmacy. The new Lake Bluff Pharmacy closed in the late 1990s and other businesses now occupy both buildings. |
