A faded black and white photo of the Lake Bluff Pharmacy |
Description |
A faded black and white photo of the Lake Bluff Pharmacy with a man, possibly pharmacist Howie Willms, sitting on the railing. The pharmacy, was owned and operated by Graham Munch. In February, 1958 Munch retired and donated the building to the library on the condition that he retain his residence on the second floor. Munch died ten months later, on December 7, 1958. When Munch retired, he sold his business to his assistant, Howard Willms, who built the brick building just east of this frame building. The brick pharmacy remained in that location until the mid-1970s, when Willms built a brand-new pharmacy. The new Lake Bluff Pharmacy closed in the late 1990s and other businesses now occupy both buildings. |
