A black and white photo take by Al Ackermann, Jr. of the Village Hall, 40 East Scranton Avenue, and the new gas lamps that replaced the old electrfied lamp. On the reverse is a note that reads Richard Myles was Northshore Gas project engineer for the installation. July 8, 1965. In the photo is the sign for the Police Department Village Hall was built in 1904 and designed by architect Webster Tomlinson. The tower was designed to handle the canvas hoses used by fire department. The tower, used to dry the hoses in the early days, was removed in 1935 and replace during Lake Bluff's Centennial year, 1995. Village Hall at one time also housed the jail. |
