The message on the reverse reads: This is picture of my best mate Madelyn Newell who is assistant to Miss Morrow and myself in " Bide-a-Wee". Bide-a-Wee Cottage was located just east of 533 East Prospect. Dr. Messinger's home in 1880. Part of a family photo album dated 1911 containing images of Gads Hill. Formerly Gads Hill, Arden Shore was originally a summer place for women and children to visit during the summer months, and later became a home for gifted and troubled boys. |
