Lake Bluff in World War I - Several articles and photos pertaining to Lake Bluff's participation in World War I. Lake Bluff was voted one of the most patriotic towns of its size in the country. The people of Lake Bluff raised money and donated an ambulance to the war effort. They also raised money for starving Belgian children during the war.

The Lake Bluff ambulance, 1917 France - Sepia photograph of the ambulance that Lake Bluff paid for and sent to France in the first World War. Lake Bluff also provided the driver, John Kreutzberg was a member of the American field service awarded the French war cross for transporting wounded under heavy fire and gas attacks.
