5. Letters Regarding General Douglas MacArthur's Motorcade - April 25th, 1951 Letter from the Village Board to the citizens of Lake Bluff encouraging the townspeople to gather uptown with American flags to greet General Douglas MacArthur as his motorcade passes through. May 14th, 1951 Letter addressed to the Village President, Harmon Woodworth, congratulating the board and the village in coordinating General Douglas MacArthur's motorcade to pause in Lake Bluff for the General to lay a wreath on the war memorial. Both letters are typed.

6. MacArthur Stops in Lake Bluff - Collection of photos documenting General Douglas MacArthur's motorcade stopping in Lake Bluff on his way North from Chicago to Milwaukee on Sheridan Road. The series of 14 photographs capture MacArthur carrying a wreath, presented by the American Legion Post 510, to the war memorial honoring those who lost their lives serving the United States of America. Photos include three multiples of MacArthur saluting the wreath he just placed on the memorial, two multiples of him holding the wreath, one of him walking the wreath to the memorial, two photos of him standing infract of the memorial after placing the wreath, and one of him walking back to the motorcade. There are also four photos, each capturing the social scene of the event - two of Lake Bluffers waiting for the motorcade to arrive, one of just the wreath in front of the memorial, and one of the individuals involved in the motorcade approaching the memorial. Lastly, there is a photocopy of a little kid waving a small American flag and holding a handmade sign in front of the memorial that reads "Welcome General MacArthur." All photos are in black and white. Some are copies printed on paper, others are printed on Kodak Velox paper, Kodak Royal paper, and a few are similar to cartes de visite.

Paul Robinson, Jr. - Five newspaper articles about Paul Robinson, Jr. United States Ambassador to Canada, returning home to Lake Bluff to deliver the Memorial Day address in May 1985, as well as preside over the dedication of the War Memorial. Also two Christmas cards sent in the J. Bronson and Alice Gridley in late 1960s early 1970s.

8. Robert McClory Visits - A Xerox article from Lake Forest-Lake Bluff News Advertiser dated June 5, 1975 showing a picture of Robert McClory standing in front of the Lake Bluff War Memorial with an a man holding the US flag. The Memorial Day ceremony was organized by the Lake Bluff American Legion Post. Robert McClory (1908-1988) served as a US Congressman for 10 terms from 1962-76 and was a key figure in the Watergate impeachment proceeding against Richard Nixon. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1928 and from Chicago–Kent College of Law in 1932. He practiced law in state and federal courts in Cook County and Lake County. From 1933–1937 he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In Lake Bluff McClory lived on Prospect Avenue, was a long-time Boy Scout leader of Lake Bluff troop 42 and served as village attorney. (LBHM website)
