2. Building Wall Tumbles in Lake Bluff - An article in the Chicago Tribune titled Building Wall Tumbles in Lake Bluff, with a photo from a crane of the destroyed building on East Scranton Avenue. The article says:" A construction project next to the two-story concrete building at 37 East Scranton Avenue may have weakened the west wall, causing it to buckle" related by Police Chief William Gallagher. "Lake Bluff architect and property owner Robert Ruggles wanted to replace a parking lot with a new office building next to the damaged building." The residents and tenants of the building found temporary housing, including Peg Ann Kompany, owned and managed by Kurt Gronau and Peg Gronau. No one was injured in the collapse, which occurred shorty after midnight. The article contains two photos of the building. See Photo 4024 in this Catalog
