1. A black and white photo of George Stone, who came to Lake Bluff in 1952 after serving in the Intelligence brach of the Navy in WW ll and the Korean War. During his time in LB he championed a variety of Village improvements, including : annexation of land from south of route 176 between Green Bay Rd and Waukegan Rd; the golf course, and the new library, among others. Stone's mother, Esther Rickert, started a real estate business in 1912 with Harold Hill. Hill left the company four years later. Now the firm of Hill and Stone Insurance and is run by Rickert's grandson and his wife, George and Patricia Stone. George lived with his wife Marjorie and daughter Elizabeth at 512 Sunrise Avenue

2. General Douglas MacArthur Back from Korea - Black and white copy from an unknown source which shows General Douglas MacArthur's motorcade leaving Lake Bluff. A caption reads, "Still scrambling for vantage point to get last glimpse of MacArthurs, man climbs atop auto as procession swings around corner." CD made from the original 78 RPM record of General Douglas MacArthur's report to Congress. A small note regarding the origins of the CD is included. 3. General Douglas MacArthur Returns from Korea - Two newspaper articles highlighting General Douglas MacArthur. The first article are two pages taken from the Chicago Daily Tribune. The second article is a page cut out from the Chicago Tribune Magazine. Chicago Daily Tribune Friday, April 20th, 1951 The headline on this newspaper reads "MacArthur's Own Story!" and includes multiple columns regarding the war in Korea, MacArthur's departure and subsequent U.S. tour, and vast opinions on the matter. A colored political cartoon is included with the title "Parallels in our history," comparing Truman's firing of MacArthur for insubordination to Benedict Arnold's betrayal of George Washington. Chicago Tribune Magazine September 4th, 1963 The article's headline reads, "Chicago Rolls Out Red Carpet for Gen. MacArthur," and is included in the "Way We Were" column highlighting events of the past. Included is a black and white photo of General MacArthur's motorcade as it passes the State Lake Theater. The article covers the scene of General MacArthur's route from Midway Airport to the Conrad Hilton hotel (now known as the Hilton Chicago) and his speech at Soldier Field.

Letters Regarding General Douglas MacArthur's Motorcade - April 25th, 1951 Letter from the Village Board to the citizens of Lake Bluff encouraging the townspeople to gather uptown with American flags to greet General Douglas MacArthur as his motorcade passes through. May 14th, 1951 Letter addressed to the Village President, Harmon Woodworth, congratulating the board and the village in coordinating General Douglas MacArthur's motorcade to pause in Lake Bluff for the General to lay a wreath on the war memorial. Both letters are typed.

6. MacArthur Stops in Lake Bluff - Collection of photos documenting General Douglas MacArthur's motorcade stopping in Lake Bluff on his way North from Chicago to Milwaukee on Sheridan Road. The series of 14 photographs capture MacArthur carrying a wreath, presented by the American Legion Post 510, to the war memorial honoring those who lost their lives serving the United States of America. Photos include three multiples of MacArthur saluting the wreath he just placed on the memorial, two multiples of him holding the wreath, one of him walking the wreath to the memorial, two photos of him standing infract of the memorial after placing the wreath, and one of him walking back to the motorcade. There are also four photos, each capturing the social scene of the event - two of Lake Bluffers waiting for the motorcade to arrive, one of just the wreath in front of the memorial, and one of the individuals involved in the motorcade approaching the memorial. Lastly, there is a photocopy of a little kid waving a small American flag and holding a handmade sign in front of the memorial that reads "Welcome General MacArthur." All photos are in black and white. Some are copies printed on paper, others are printed on Kodak Velox paper, Kodak Royal paper, and a few are similar to cartes de visite.
