11. The Kelly Klub - The Kelly Klub was the nickname for a group of wealthy college boys who were made The Hotel Irving their summer headquarters. They were famous for dressing in all-white and swilling beer during their tennis games--their favorite hobby. When the Hotel Irving burned they were outraged at the lack of a place to play tennis and so the Lake Bluff Country Club was built on the same site three weeks later to accommodate their habits.
