1. John Kreutzberg - Six scanned copies from John Kreutzberg's notebook he had with him in Europe serving the American's in WW1. His entries provide excellent insight into a soldiers daily life in 1917 as well as depict observations of the war's effect on him and his peers. Xeroxed copy of two newspaper clippings. The first one is from the October 7th, 1917 Chicago Tribune, honoring him for his services as an ambulance driver on France's front lines, receiving the French Cross of War. The ambulance he drove was donated by Lake Bluff residents. The second newspaper clipping is from the October 4th, 1937 News Sun recalling his 1917 French Cross of War award. Personal contact card for John Kreutzberg's grandson, John. Also on file is a copy of the contents page of the "Preliminary Guide to The John Kreutzberg Papers," including a copied photo of him smoking while sitting on a chair in uniform.

2. Lake Bluff in World War I - Several articles and photos pertaining to Lake Bluff's participation in World War I. Lake Bluff was voted one of the most patriotic towns of its size in the country. The people of Lake Bluff raised money and donated an ambulance to the war effort. They also raised money for starving Belgian children during the war.

3. The Lake Bluff ambulance, 1917 France - Sepia photograph of the ambulance that Lake Bluff paid for and sent to France in the first World War. Lake Bluff also provided the driver, John Kreutzberg was a member of the American field service awarded the French war cross for transporting wounded under heavy fire and gas attacks.
