Lake Bluff resident Frank " Pony " Swanton is a descendant of Robert and Mary Cole Swanton who came to Lake Forest in 1837, according to the article. In 1867 Civil War Veteran James Swanton married Catherine Miller. They had 14 children and lived in the family's farm house on 171 Laurel in Lake Forest. A one page write-up by Milton Swanton on the James Miller family. Also a Xerox copy of the Civil War Pension for James Swanton, filed by his widow Catherine Miller January 18, 1908.
