A letter from neighbors supporting Robert McClory - A letter from neighbors supporting Robert McClory : Elmer Vliet, J. Howard Wood, Allen Kuhlman, Raymond Lewis, Allan Percy, and Charles Ruhl. Also a Commendation from the Lake County Bar Association to McClory, dated July 8, 1988. Robert McClory (1908-1988) served as a US Congressman for 10 terms from 1962-76 and was a key figure in the Watergate impeachment proceeding against Richard Nixon. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1928 and from Chicago–Kent College of Law in 1932. He practiced law in state and federal courts in Cook County and Lake County. From 1933–1937 he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In Lake Bluff McClory lived on Prospect Avenue, was a long-time Boy Scout leader of Lake Bluff troop 42 and served as village attorney. (LBHM website)

There was discussion concerning the acquisition by the Park Board of a part of the Gurnee property on Sheridan Road, the last remaining parcel of land necessary to the completion of the Sheridan road park plan.

Lake Forest News - Lake Forest News - $6,000 LAND GIFT GIVEN TO GRACE CHURCH. Mr. and Mrs, James Stiles, Jr. donated three lots facing Scranton Avenue each 50 feet wide and 150 feet deep and adjoins the property on which the church building now stands. Mrs. Joseph Bubb of 150 East North Avenue held a luncheon for the Womans Association of Grace church.

Attached is the letters original envelope (2) Meeting minutes about the Plan Commission meeting on February 9, 1945. Notes detail the proposed plat of a subdivision in which the application had been withdrawn. Therefore the meeting was held open for a general discussion of building, zoning plans, etc.
