Frank Pearce outside the post office - A postcard showing Frank Pearce outside the post office building. Pearce served as Lake Bluff's first marshal and was also postmaster for 23 years. He bought a farm just north of Lake Bluff in 1886. Pearce served in the Civil War under Admiral Farragut during the blockade of the Mississippi River.
