Associate editor of Poetry magazine 1912 - 1922. - Published early works of Sherwood Anderson, Edgar Lee Masters and Carl Sandberg, among others. - Wrote over 175 poems, reviews and essays in Poetry. In New Mexico, organized groups of writers and poets and became involved with preserving native American culture, becoming curator of the House of Navajo Religion. Was editor in chief of the New Mexico Works Progress Administration Federal Writers Project. |
