At the bottom of the page is a short biography on Grost, who enlisted in the Army July 1917 and discharged June 1919. Leo was in the 132 Ambulance Company 33rd Division. His father and mother were Frank and Elizabeth Grost. Frank worked at the Cloes Brickyard and Elizabeth as a cook for Mrs. Fowler's hotel.

Frank moved to Lake Bluff in 1879 and worked at the Cloes Brickyard shortly before it closed. After that, he picked up a variety of odd jobs such as landscaping for the Lake Bluff Camp Meeting Association and chopping wood for the North Western Railroad. This document also includes some brief information about Leopold's mother, Elizabeth, such as her maiden name (Rieffen), arrival in Lake Bluff (1886), and job (working for the Fowler Hotel).
