Alice Home receipt - Two receipts from the Alice Home Hospital for William M. C. Foster for X-Ray charges and a cast. One receipt is dated February 6, 1928 and the other February 29, 1928. Total charges eighteen dollars and ten dollars. The Alice Home was a Hospital on the middle Campus of Lake Forest College and served the community of Lake Forest from the early 1900s until around 1965. The hospital apparently served Lake Bluff, as Foster lived at 713 Prospect Ave., Lake Bluff in 1928. (See Doc. 512).

Crane proprietor. Gladys Foster purchased two dozen tulip bulbs and a mop, as well as the rent for a waxer, each for one dollar. The receipt is signed by Crane. Five receipts from Mark Kick Groceries - Five receipts from Mark Kick Groceries, Fruits, and Fresh Vegetables store dated between March 1928 to August 1929. On each receipt gives the address as Lake Bluff, Ill but the exact location of the store is unknown. The receipts were made out to Mrs. Foster, who is most likely Gladys Foster as we have family items from William M. C. Foster. The family lived at 713 East Prospect. William died July 30, 1929.

G. L. Blanchard Co. receipt - A G. L. Blanchard Co. receipt given to William Foster of 713 East Prospect for 2000 # of Coke for a charge of $26 paid February 26, 1929. The Blanchard Company was based in Lake Forest and had a branch yard at 755 Sheridan Road. The Company was owned by George Blanchard. The 1924 Lake Bluff phone book lists Blanchard as a feed store.

Lake Bluff Garage Receipt - A Lake Bluff Garage Receipt given to William Foster. He was charged three dollars for 15 gallons of gas, 1 battery for $13.75, among several other items. The total amount owed was $20.40. The date is January 31, 1929. The Lake Bluff Garage was located at 708 Sheridan Road. (This is probably incorrect today, as the even numbers are on the left side of the street. Or, possibly the Garage was located on the West side of Sheridan Road.)

The address for the pharmacy is stamped and appears to be 28 East Center Avenue, but the phone book for the year 1928 lists the business at 40 East Scranton Avenue. William Foster and Family - Receipt from the Chicago Evening Post Co. showing the purchase of 7 lines in their paper to announce the death of William Foster on July 30, 1929, who lived at 713 Prospect Avenue. Phone numbers and location notes taken by William Foster. A car insurance card made out to Gladys Foster at 713 East Prospect Avenue. Notebook of expenses kept by William Foster. Order forms from William Fosters printing company, Marquette Lithograph Co. Copy of the July 13, 1933 Chicago Herald and Examiner which includes a photo of Margaret Foster and Jack Barlow standing in front of a tennis court net. The two were given awards from the American Legion Post of Lake Bluff for being model students. An obituary from the Chicago Tribune dated July 31, 1929 announcing the death of William as well as a wedding announcement for Gladys and William. Two bank books for William and Gladys for First Trust and Savings Bank Chicago. Gladius book begins December 22, 1915 and William's book June 9, 1923; both books were closed February 6, 1929. The accounts held $94.82 for Gladys and $44.21 for William.
