A Xerox article from the Chicago Tribune announcing Marion Claire Weber's return to Lake Bluff to be beside her father, Horace Cook who is seriously ill. Weber canceled her contracts to sing in Monte Carlo and Bordeaux and returns home. Marion Claire Cook Weber was an internationally known opera singer in the late 1920s and 1930s. In 1942, she sang in the Hollywood film Make a Wish. In 1942 she joined her husband, Henry Weber, in producing the Chicago Theater of the Air program on WGN radio. She was the daughter of Grace and Horace Cook and lived at 700 East Center Avenue. |
