An article from the Chicago Tribune July 26, 1988 about the two door companies on either side of Route 41 in Lake Bluff. Johnson Fire Proof Door Company, located in the Knauz Auto Park, installed metal doors for three new jail cells in Lake Bluff's Public Safety Building. The other door manufacturer, Crane Fulview Door Company, on the west side of Route 41, manufactured revolving doors for such places as the Sears Tower, McCormick Place in Chicago and the World Trade Center in New York. |
