Several articles and letters regarding Waino Peterson, as well as a background outline of Peterson's life by his son Dr. Waino Peterson, Jr. Waino (Peter) Peterson moved with his parents to Lake Bluff in 1895 where he attended school. In November 1907 Waino became Village Marshal of Lake Bluff. On August 10, 1910, he was shot by resident Michael Mines and spent five months in the hospital and received $2,300 in damages. Waino later became Chief of Police in Winnetka, Illinois. A letter from Fritz, not dated, from Camp Grant, Illinois A letter by John Howard Village President, recommending Peterson as being a good marshall, police officer and another to Peterson regarding an interview with the Chicago Mounted Police, dated March 28, 1931.
