A Pioneer Press article on the work of Howard Moran and his hand painted wood mural depicting scenes of downtown Lake Bluff. J. Howard Moran had a greeting card business from 1958 to 1976 called Designers Editions, in which he designed 25 Christmas card every year, as well created a set of note cards depicting 6 scenes of Lake Bluff. Moran later engaged in freelance artwork. He created a wood mural 6.5 feet by 30 feet which he painted scenes of historical Lake Bluff. The mural hung in the then First National Bank of Lake Bluff, 120 East Scranton Avenue. Email messages say that Moran worked on the mural from December 1976 to April 1978. |
