Extensive genealogy for Gustavus Swift and family. The Swift's were meat packers in Chicago. Gustavus and his son Louis each had a cottage in Lake Bluff. According to the Assessor's records, the Swifts at one time owned lots 5-9 in Block 21, being 701 and 707 Prospect Avenue and land fronting Park Place next to 708 Park Place and lived here as summer residents in late 1890s and early 1900s. |
